Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to another great year at Adelanto Elementary School. I am Ramon Rizo, proudly serving as your principal since 2013.   I look forward to working with our amazing community of parents, families, staff, and students to strive to be a school of excellence for school year 2019/2020.

We will proudly continue to build our community of learners through programs such as STAR (AR), PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), and Mindfulness.  I am committed to leading and supporting our teachers, classified staff, and Cougar families in our pursuit of excellence in both social and academic success.

We have fully implemented Common Core State Standards and our “Wonders of Writing” focus, my goal is to ensure that both staff and students are provided with the necessary tools to achieve our goals. I will help in facilitating the opportunities and environments which foster collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.  In doing so, our classrooms will continue to be gateways to success for all students.

Our hope is to continue to foster a positive, safe, and supportive community in which we ALL can be proud of.  Through community events such as Back to School Night, Family Literacy Night, Young Authors, and many others we will involve all stake holders in our journey to success.  I encourage our community to be a part in the success of our students through volunteering, and joining parent groups such as PTA (parent teacher association), ELAC (English learner advisory committee), and SSC (school site council).

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.  I look forward to meeting and working with each of you throughout this school year.

Go Cougars!

Sincerely,
Ramon Rizo
Principal
