AESD Families and Community:

Adelanto Elementary School District would like to update our parents, students, and staff regarding the worldwide concerns with respect to the Novel Coronavirus aka (COVID-19). The Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) conducted a press conference on February 25, 2020 to share that the United States is continuing its aggressive containment strategies of detecting, tracking, and isolating all COVID-19 cases. These strategies have been very successful and the reported cases in the USA remain extremely low.

As of today, there are still very few cases in the USA and no spread of the virus in our County or City. As of March 5, 2020, there are no confirmed Novel Coronavirus cases in San Bernardino County and/or in the High Desert, Victorville, and/or Adelanto.

AESD will continue to closely monitor the worldwide COVID-19 situation and our commitment to a safe school environment remains paramount. School sites will continue to receive guidance from our AESD district staff as we continue to work with government public health and education offices to receive direction, guidance, and support as new developments arise.

There are some preventative actions you can take to help protect yourself and your child from respiratory illnesses such as the flu and coronavirus:
* Stay home when you have a fever
* Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or sleeve
* Wash hands frequently for at least 20 seconds
* Routinely clean frequently touched surfaces
* Avoid close contact with people who are sick

We will continue to refine protocols for our schools and share more information with our stakeholders in the event that COVID-19 becomes a larger issue in our immediate area.
